The actress says slurs similar 'credibility' and 'curry' really affected her cocky-esteem.

Priyanka Chopra has revealed that she was bullied in high school because she's dark-brown. The actress and one-time Miss World told the Associated Press nearly her experience with racism while in high school in the US as a teenager.

She said: "I was treated differently considering I'm chocolate-brown. I had, you know, actually racist behaviour when I was in high school in 10th grade. I was called 'brownie', 'curry', 'go back on the elephant you came on', and that actually affected me when I was a child and affected my self-esteem."

However, Chopra decided that she didn't want to exist a victim and wanted to make sure others didn't experience the same way either.

Though born in Bharat, the Baywatch extra attended high school in the US when she moved there at historic period 13 to live with her aunt. According to People, she moved from country to country and attended schools in Massachusetts, Iowa and Queens, New York.

The 36-year-one-time Quantico extra is married to singer Nick Jonas, who is ten years her junior. She'due south looking forward to a world where diverseness is normal. "I do desire to create a world for my futurity kids where they don't have to recollect about variety, where they're not talking about it because it'due south normal," she told AP.
